Google recently announced that from 21st April it will be prioritizing within mobile search rankings those websites that are optimized for mobile devices. This step is aimed to bring more relevancy for mobile phone users when searching on Google.
It will immediately become an issue for marketers once this change is in place as the optimized content for mobile devices will become increasingly important. The change in ranking will be the same everywhere regardless of language entering into force since 21st April.
Apart from favouring mobile-friendly websited, Google aims to show more relevant app content within search results. “We will begin to use information from indexed apps as a factor in ranking for signed-in users who have the app installed” says the official statement.
