According to the last survey, 4% of users would like to limit runet, namely free access to movies, music and books on the Internet. The survey results further showed that 49% of the respondents believe that there is no need for runet to provide unlimited free content downloads. 16% of respondents were unable to express their opinion. Among supporters of internet restrictions, roughly 13% explain their position by saying that “work must be paid for”. Another 9% expressed the belief that the protection of copyright and intellectual property is necessary, 7% believe that limiting free access to materials will protect children from unnecessary and dangerous information, thereby improving the quality of runet. 3% called free access “piracy and theft”. On the other hand, 12% of supporters of free access to resources expressed the belief that runet was created so that information could be found on it for free. 9% say that restricting free access also restricts people’s rights to information. 3% called paid access too expensive and 2% are confident that users will soon find a way around this ban. The survey also showed that 43% of respondents downloaded mostly movies and series from the Internet, 61% music and 36% of respondents downloaded books. We remind you that the anti-piracy law entered into force on August 1 of this year. This law provides for the temporary and permanent blocking of websites that contain illegal video. Runet may soon extend this law to music, books, and software.
