The results of LiveInternet statistics show that in Runet, they connect to the Internet through smartphones and tablets with the Android operating system, as often as they use Windows XP-based computers.
The share of mobile devices based on Android from the total number of devices connected to the Internet in July was 17.5%, at the same time the indicator for Windows XP was at the level of 17.1%. The first place in the ranking was taken by the Windows 7 operating system, whose share was 39.4%. The mobile program of the iOS platform for iPhone smartphones and iPad tablets, which is used by 5% of Russians with access to the Internet, took the fourth place in the list.
It should be mentioned that according to May surveys, the share of smartphones in Russia was 71%, a year ago this indicator was only 40%. According to Hi-tech@Mail.ru chief analyst, 50% of customers in Russia prefer Android smartphones. According to him, the growth of the market share of Google’s mobile platform was achieved thanks to the reduction in the prices of these devices.
