According to experts, the high activity of the online store can be explained by the availability of prices, convenience and a wide assortment. However, there are downsides such as inaccurate sizing and delivery issues.
Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg make the most frequent purchases via the Internet, accounting for 46%, followed by users between the ages of 25 and 34.
The top 10 most popular products sold online include shoes and clothing – 12%, electronics – 7%, cosmetics – 5%, magazines, books, DVDs and CDs – 5%, tours and tickets – 5%, jewelry – 3% and home goods – 3%. In addition, Russians order theater and cinema tickets and concerts online.
Internet users who already have experience with online shopping are afraid to buy currency online – 31%, animals – 33%, food – 36%. In addition, respondents believe that it is not worth buying tickets and tours on the Internet – 5%, furniture – 19% and cosmetics – 18%.
Currently, 53% of Russians use the Internet, with 39% of daily users. Russian youth connect to the Internet every day, which is 71%, university students make up 57%. The number of people who do not connect to the Internet fell from 43 to 38%. This category includes respondents with low education, who make up 80%, and older people, who represent 85%.
