The site’s language set contains 2 levels. If it is set incorrectly and does not match the language used on the website, it can cause the inability to display certain characters and thus make the text unreadable. For this reason, it is recommended to use UTF-8 encoding, which is universal and includes almost all languages of the world. The second level of this problem is the lang attribute, according to which the search engine knows what language to expect on the website. Mismatching the lang attribute with the language of the site causes worse positions in the search engine results list. This is a relatively common shortcoming if a website with foreign content is created by a Czech company.
